Washington DC IIPI’s Executive Director Eric Garduno has announced today that he will be leaving IIPI to join the staff of the House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary. Beginning March 12, 2007 Eric will serve as Counsel to the Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet and Intellectual Property.

Eric has been with IIPI for over six years as a Program Attorney and eventually as Executive Director. He has been instrumental in a number of IIPI’s conferences, workshops, reports and projects. During his tenure at IIPI, Eric worked on a variety of topics including technology transfer, national innovation strategies, intellectual property protections for software and software related inventions, plant varieties and plant patents and music licensing.

When asked about his time at IIPI, Eric commented “Working to achieve the mission of IIPI has been the most rewarding experience in my life. It has truly been an honor to be a part of this organization.” Our best wishes go out to you Eric, in your new endeavor.
